Q. How do I know if I am eligible for the Motability Scheme?
A. To qualify for any of the Motability Schemes you must be in receipt of either the Higher Rate Motability Component of the Disability Living Allowance, or War Pensioners Mobility Supplement (with at least 12 months award length remaining).

Q. Is there lots of paperwork involved?
A. Our Motability Specialists are on hand to take the hassle out of any paperwork. We want to make the process as simple and easy as possible for all of our customers.

Q. How long does the process take?
A. You can often have your new car within a matter of weeks from signing the paperwork. This may vary depending on availability of the vehicle you require and the time taken for individual applications to be processed. Your Motability Specialist will keep you updated throughout the whole process.

Q. What is advance payment?
A. An advance payment is a payment over and above the motability benefit that the customer must pay for the car. Advance payments will vary depending on the model and specification of the car, and the current Ford marketing programme. In some cases Motability may provide some financial help towards this payment, depending on the individual customer's circumstances. Speak to one of our Motability Specialists for more information.

Q. I am unable to call into the dealership, can I arrange a home visit?
A. If you are unable to come to the dealership our Motability Specialists can arrange to visit you at your home, and will discuss your particular requirements.

Q. What is Motability?
A. Motability is an independent not-for-profit organisation, which provides mobility solutions for disabled people.

Q. What are the schemes available?
A. At Jennings you can opt for either a new car on a three year contract hire lease, or alternatively a new or used car on hire purchase over a term of three to five years.

Q. Are there any mileage restrictions on the contract hire scheme?
A. You are currently allowed 60,000 miles on a three year contract hire agreement (9000 miles above the recognised average). Should you exceed this limit there will be a charge of 5p per mile.

Q. I have been told that I need an adapted vehicle, can you arrange a test drive?
A. Although we do not have adapted vehicles at each branch, we have access to vehicles with certain adaptations from our Ford MAGIC department and would be only too happy to arrange this for you.

Q. What happens if I break down?
A. Motability cars on the contract hire scheme are covered by Motability Assist for the 3 year term.

Q. What about servicing, and can I have a courtesy car?
A. The service schedule is normally every 12 months or 12,500 miles, which ever comes sooner. Manual courtesy cars can be available, provided the service is booked a couple of weeks in advance and that the customer requests a courtesy car at time of booking. Alternatively, there is a while you wait service, or a customer pick-up and drop-off can be arranged.

Q. What about insurance for the vehicle?
A. You can have 2 nominated drivers for the vehicle. If the disabled person is to be a driver, then they must count themselves as one nominated driver. Additional drivers can be arranged, but there will be a cost for this.
