Jennings Ford stepped in to support one of the region’s biggest family fun days recently.
The ‘Big Day Out’ event, which was the first of its kind organised by Civil Service North East for civil servants and their families, took place at Gosforth Racecourse in Newcastle using volunteers and sponsorship from a range of staff associations and local businesses.
Throughout the day there was a host of fun and entertainment for all the family to enjoy, including fairground rides, inflatables, races, competitions, raffles, complementary therapy sessions, healthy eating events with cookery demonstrations, live bands, a circus workshop and face painters.
There was also a designated sustainability zone which demonstrated how to save energy and gave tips on how to reduce utility bills, in addition to the latest bike being available to test drive and a SMART driving simulator.
The Jennings Ford team was present with an impressive range of models from the Ford range, including the latest range of ECOnetic models, which generated a lot of interest from people attending the event
Supplied by Jennings Ford’s Gateshead and Sunderland dealerships, the ECOnetic model range consists of a Fiesta 1/-6 litre engine, a Focus 1.6-litre TDCi and a Mondeo 1.8 TDCi model.
Barry Fearon, sales manager at Jennings Ford’s Eslington Park branch in Gateshead, said; “The ECOnetic model range not only gives customers a clearer conscience about the impact they are having on the environment, but it also is an excellent way in which customers can make substantial savings.”
Barry added; “We were delighted to be able to support the event, which was a huge success and well attended. Thankfully, we were blessed with good weather, which was an added bonus on the day.”
The event, which was organised by volunteer Civil Servants as a platform to showcase what Civil Service North East represents and can offer today’s Civil Servants, was hailed a huge success with more than 8000 people attending to take part in the fun, entertainment and activities.
