Our Story

Septimus Jennings

It all began in 1890.…When Septimus Jennings started repairing bicycles as a hobby in his garden shed in Morpeth, Northumberland.

That hobby soon became a full-time occupation for Septimus when he bought his first business premises and started selling bicycles and motor cars.

In 1917 the business was one of the first main Ford dealers in the country to be appointed by Ford Motor Company.

Jennings

Since then the business has successfully grown with generations of the same family coming to Jennings Ford for their motoring needs.

A management buyout from the third generation of the Jennings family took place in the early 90s and in 2005 the most significant buyout involving Jennings Ford’s current managing director, Nas Khan, occurred.

Other directors include finance and company secretary Graeme Armstrong and operations director, Nicky Dalkin.

We have steadily developed the business by investing in new dealerships across the North East. We have also received many awards for delivering outstanding levels of customer satisfaction.

Thank-you for choosing Jennings Ford for your motoring needs. We are just as passionate about our products and customer service as Septimus Jennings was when it all began.
